Leaving one’s comfort zone is a psychologically complex process that can lead to personal growth, but also involves overcoming significant emotional and cognitive barriers.
I called them monsters because of the fear of the unknown, the growth and the learning zone that comes with a lot of panic . it involves challenges that push boundaries. Going too far beyond the comfort can lead to stress of being overwhelmed and cognitive dissonance. when we successfully navigate a challenging experience, the brain releases dopamine, reinforcing the positive association with risk taking and encouraging future exploration. each step outside the comfort zone builds self-efficacy, the belief in one’s ability to succeed. This, in turn, boost confidence and resilience, making future challenges less intimidating.
